Primary Care, Express Care or Emergency Department Care: How to Choose

Primary Care

Contact your physician's office first for nonemergency ailments and injuries. Your primary care physician has records of your medical history throughout the years and is likely to be the person with the best understanding of treatments and medications that work for you.

But when your personal physician isn't available, it's still important to get the care you need, when you need it. In that case, our Express Care team members are here for you.

Express Care

Express Care is similar to a primary care clinic, but care is provided on a walk-in basis and does not require an appointment.

For non-life-threatening issues, such as colds, earaches, allergies, sprains or mild sunburn, Express Care is a great option, especially after hours or on weekends. Express Care clinics treat patients 3 months of age and older and do not require you to be an established patient for treatment.

Emergency Department

Lake Regional Emergency Department offers 24/7 time-critical care for trauma, stroke and heart attack patients, as well as other life-threatening conditions. In addition to specially trained staff, Lake Regional's Emergency Department provides access to specialized care, emergency surgical services and our state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab.
