Audiologist Jonathan Wilson, Au.D., CCC-A, F-AAA, cares for patients of all ages at Lake Regional ENT & Audiology.

Dr. Wilson evaluates, diagnoses, treats and manages hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness and balance disorders. He uses the latest sound booth technology for hearing tests and offers full retail hearing services, including hearing aid fitting, batteries and maintenance.

Dr. Wilson also specializes in aural rehabilitation, which helps people understand how hearing loss impacts their lives and helps them adopt new communication strategies. Dr. Wilson works closely with Lake Regional Otolaryngologist Edward Barns, M.D., FACS, to treat patients whose hearing loss requires medical or surgical treatment.

Dr. Wilson’s compassion for people struggling with hearing and balance disorders is personal: Growing up, he watched his mother struggle with an inner ear disorder, and he became an audiologist out of a desire to help others with similar challenges.“By the time I was a teenager, I was driving my siblings everywhere because Meniere’s Disease would cause my mother to have episodes of vertigo and ringing in her ears,” Dr. Wilson recalls. “I saw how audiologists were able to help her, and I wanted to help people the way my mother was helped.”

Dr. Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree in communicative disorders and deaf education from Utah State University and a doctorate of audiology from the University of Kansas Medical Center. He also has a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He joined Lake Regional in 2015.

“I see my role as helping people navigate their journey through hearing loss to help them avoid as many negative impacts as possible,” Dr. Wilson says. “To help people communicate more easily and hear people they hold dear is very rewarding.”

Before starting college, Dr. Wilson spent two years in Ecuador and is fluent in Spanish.
