Jacob Quick, M.D., FACP
Jacob Quick, M.D., FACS, cares for patients at Lake Regional General Surgery.
Board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care, Dr. Quick provides a broad range of surgical treatments, ranging from trauma surgery to colon and biliary tract surgery. He also performs complex abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repair using traditional and minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Quick follows the simple goal of treating each patient like family.
“Undergoing surgery — any surgery — is a big deal, and I find that working through that process together improves patient understanding and involvement,” he said. “I try to determine patient’s end goals first. This sets the stage for expectations in recovery and for the rest of their lives.”
With goals set, Dr. Quick then discusses the problem without the medical jargon.
“I draw a lot of pictures of anatomy and really strive to achieve patient understanding,” Dr. Quick said. “We’re in this together, and it is crucial to clearly communicate with patients.”
In addition to his experience in patient care, Dr. Quick has served as program director for the MU School of Medicine’s general surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship programs. He currently serves as president of the Missouri chapter of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Academy of Master Surgeon Educators. He also has published nine books, along with more than 50 other publications.
Dr. Quick joined Lake Regional in 2022.
