Donald Thompson, M.D.

Donald Thompson, M.D., cares for patients at Lake Regional Gastroenterology. As a board-certified gastroenterologist, he helps patients improve their digestive health to improve their overall health. He treats conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, and liver.

“Many times, gastrointestinal issues are the topic of humor, but in reality, gastrointestinal disorders and diseases that affect the GI system substantially detract from a patient’s quality of life,” Dr. Thompson said. “I have seen many patients quietly suffer from their symptoms to the detriment of their family, personal and work lives. By addressing their diseases, patients frequently regain their independence and begin to enjoy activities that they had long since given up on experiencing.”

Dr. Thompson enjoys taking time to educate his patients.

“My priority is to teach my patients about their diseases and best options for management,” he said. “I work hard to individualize treatment options for each person.”
