Dale Lockhert, M.D.
Dale Lockhert, M.D., cares for adult patients at Lake Regional Clinic – Lake Ozark. He is a board-certified doctor of internal medicine, which means he provides in-depth care to adult patients. He has significant experience managing chronic conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.
Before joining Lake Regional in 2019, Dr. Lockhert spent 18 years practicing internal medicine in Kennett, Missouri. And before entering medical school, he was a nurse for eight years. As a physician, he was worked both in primary care and as a hospitalist. He finds primary care particularly rewarding because he’s able to develop relationships with his patients.
“I’m very upfront and honest with people, and I like explaining to them their conditions and what they can do to improve their quality of life,” he said, adding he prefers to empower his patients to take charge of their health instead of just prescribing them medication.
“Many of my patients face significant challenges, such as disability and depression, so it’s important to offer them hope and motivation,” he said. “I like to ask about their life goals. If they can focus on what they love, that can help them quit smoking, change their diet and start exercising. I want them to enjoy life and be a part of it.”
