Cira Monnig, FNP
Monnig had already been a nurse for 10 years when she became a family nurse practitioner in 2014. Her greatest motivation for continuing her education, she said, was the opportunity to do more for her patients.
“I believe the most important thing a provider can do is listen to their patients,” she said. “As a provider, it is my job to provide education; however, at the end of the day, it is the patient who makes all of the final decisions about their health care. Providers always should respect that patients are individuals who are ultimately in charge of their own health. It is their health and their life. The provider should work with each patient to find the best treatment plan for each individual. The patient is more likely to feel heard, respected and involved in their care and therefore is more likely to reach their health care goals.”
Monnig joined Lake Regional in 2017.
