All proceeds from this annual tradition support the Ethel Rayburn Nursing Scholarship. This means your Tree of Caring order helps provide our community with more nurses and more highly trained nurses.

Nurses like Teresa Buol, MSN, FNP-C, who received the scholarship in 2014, and Mackenzie Wagers, R.N., who received the scholarship in 2021.

In 2014, Buol was a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. She used the scholarship to continue her education to become a family nurse practitioner, and today, she cares for patients at Lake Regional Urology.

“Receiving the Ethel Rayburn scholarship was a great honor,” Buol said. “I felt encouraged and supported to achieve my educational and career goals.”

Wagers joined Lake Regional in 2019 as a new graduate LPN and used the scholarship to become a registered nurse. She now works at Lake Regional Clinic – Lebanon.

“Receiving the scholarship encouraged me to go further in my nursing career,” she said. “I encourage you to order a Tree of Caring ornament because this scholarship provides the community with more nurses.”

The Tree of Caring ornaments will decorate a Christmas tree in the Lake Regional Hospital lobby. You will be able to pick up your ornaments by contacting Lake Regional Auxiliary.
