It’s not too late to register for Fighting the Opioid Epidemic, a free one-hour health talk at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Lake Regional Hospital.
Tony Kauten, PharmD, Lake Regional Pharmacy manager, will lead the health talk. He will explain who is at risk for an opioid overdose and overdose signs and symptoms. He also will explain how to respond to an overdose and how to get naloxone at a pharmacy.
Substance abuse, including opioid addiction, was one of the top health needs identified in Lake Regional’s 2018 Community Health Needs Assessment.
“There are very few lives that aren’t affected by this issue in our communities and statewide,” said Billye Bennett, R.N., Lake Regional education coordinator.
