Lake Regional Health System welcomes Miriam Carr, FNP-C, to Lake Regional Pulmonology. She joins Pulmonologist Joe Sohal, M.D., and Kim Farris, MSN, APRN, FNP, NP-C, at the clinic.
Patients at Lake Regional Pulmonology receive care for lung disease and respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, emphysema, interstitial lung disease and more.
“Miriam loves helping patients,” said Lindsay Bentley, manager of Lake Regional Pulmonology. “She has a background in emergency medicine and critical care medicine, both of which have strong connections to pulmonology. Her experience makes her a great addition to our team.”
Originally from Texas, Carr earned her family nurse practitioner degree from the United States University based in San Diego, California. She earned a bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Missouri – Columbia. In addition, she holds a master’s in education from Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Her passion for education is evident in her care for patients.
“I am big on having patients help with the decision process,” Carr said. “I explain the options and encourage patients to choose which one best fits their life.
“Sometimes the hardest part of an illness is patients feel like they’re losing control,” she continued. “Involving patients in the decision process gives them back some control.”
