Lake Regional Health System hosted its annual Career Camp for students between the ages of 10 and 14 on Wednesday and Thursday, July 25 and 26. The students gained an understanding of careers throughout the health care field, including patient care, administration, engineering, computer systems, pharmacy, rehab therapies, social work and more. Participants also gained hands-on experience through job shadowing and lifelike scenarios, and they learned how to perform CPR.

Student comments on the program’s evaluation form described the camp’s impact.

“It showed me if I want to be in the medical field,” one student wrote.

“It makes me want to help other people,” another wrote. Still another wrote, “It has helped me see all the different things you can do in health care.”

Lake Regional offers a variety of educational programming during the year and holds health fairs and screenings throughout the lake area. For information on upcoming events, visit www.lakeregional.com/events.
