Lake Regional Health System welcomes Curtis Mather, D.O., and Jeffrey Mutchler, D.O., to Lake Regional Orthopedics in Osage Beach. The two orthopedic surgeons have worked together in Lebanon since 1995.
“We are pleased to welcome Drs. Mather and Mutchler to Lake Regional Orthopedics,” said John Appleby, director of Lake Regional Orthopedic Services. “We are committed to providing our region excellent orthopedics care, and these two experienced surgeons will help us expand our offerings and serve more patients.”
Drs. Mather and Mutchler provide surgical and nonsurgical repair of broken bones and torn ligaments and cartilage. They provide sports medicine, and they treat osteoarthritis and repetitive use injuries, such as carpal tunnel and trigger finger. Common procedures include arthroscopic (minimally invasive) surgery, rotator cuff repair and total joint replacement surgery, including knees, hips and shoulders.
Meet Dr. Mather
Dr. Mather knew since third grade that he wanted to be a physician.
“I have had the privilege, along with my partner, Dr. Jeff Mutchler, of developing an orthopedic surgery practice in Lebanon and south-central Missouri,” he said. “It has been a joy to offer this needed service to smaller communities, a service that is usually restricted to larger markets.”
Dr. Mather earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is board certified in osteopathic medicine and orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Mather and his wife, LeAnn, have been married for 35 years and have three sons. They are a golfing family, and they enjoy boating at the Lake of the Ozarks. Dr. Mather is also a pilot and owns a small flight school.
Meet Dr. Mutchler
Dr. Mutchler became interested in orthopedics in eighth grade, when he needed a couple of orthopedic surgeries. Before creating a care plan for his patients, he takes time to listen to them and to learn their goals for treatment.
“I want to get to know each patient and understand their life situation, including work and recreation,” he said.
Dr. Mutchler earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at ATSU Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he and Dr. Mather became friends. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Mutchler and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 36 years. They have a son, a daughter and three grandchildren. In his free time, Dr. Mutchler enjoys riding dirt bikes and operating earth-moving equipment.
Drs. Mather and Mutchler join Scott Hofer, D.O.; Jeff Jones, D.O; Ryan Morris, D.O.; and Eric Varboncouer, M.D., at Lake Regional Orthopedics. Along with these six orthopedic surgeons, Lake Regional’s orthopedics team also includes a foot and ankle surgeon, Cody Fox, DPM, FACFAS; and three physician assistants, Gina Fasano, PA-C; Brandon Reeves, MPT, PA-C; and Brian Swanson, PA-C.
