Lake Regional Health System announces Michelle Helton, D.O., MBA, has joined Lake Regional Clinic – Camdenton, located at 1930 N. Business Route 5. Dr. Helton is board certified in family medicine.
“I’m originally from Lebanon, Missouri, and I’m excited to move back to the area,” Dr. Helton said. “I feel a sense of pride caring for the community where I was raised and am glad to give back to the region that provided my start and foundation.”
Dr. Helton earned her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed a family medicine residency with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Jonesboro.
Dr. Helton chose family medicine so she could develop relationships with her patients.
“I wanted to be able to work with all patients for any of their concerns,” she said, adding she is committed to helping patients uncover and strengthen their own motivations for making changes.
“The patient’s ultimate goals and expectations should drive the treatment plan and management strategy, so I take time to talk through those goals and expectations with each patient,” she said.
Dr. Helton met her husband, Jon, in high school. They have two horses, five dogs, six cats and three chickens. In her free time, she enjoys riding horses and spending time with her family on the water – either at the lake or floating on the Niangua or Gasconade.
Along with Dr. Helton, Lake Regional’s primary care team in Camdenton includes Micheal Durham, D.O.; Deborah King, FNP; Michael Ledbetter, D.O.; Amy Lockhert, M.D., FAAFP; Robert Meyer, FNP; James Neill, M.D.; and Shari Neill, M.D. Virtual visits are available by calling the clinic.
