Lake Regional Welcomes Laboratory Manager

Lake Regional Health System welcomes Joanne Reed, MT(ASCP), who will manage Lake Regional Laboratory.

“We are pleased to welcome Joanne to Lake Regional,” said Mike Dow, PharmD, director of Lake Regional Ancillary Services. “She brings extensive laboratory experience and will make sure the critical work that takes place in our laboratory continues to support exceptional patient care.”

Reed has a Bachelor of Science from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. She spent the last five years as a core lab manager at Boyce and Bynum Pathology Laboratories in Columbia. Previously, she served as the microbiology supervisor at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Columbia, and before that, she was a hematology supervisor at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.

Originally from St. Louis, Reed has lived in Jefferson City for 30 years. She and her husband, Sam, have a blended family that includes her two adult sons and his adult daughter and son, as well as one grandchild. They enjoy traveling, especially cruising the Caribbean, snorkeling, sailing and attending blues festivals.

Lake Regional laboratory professionals use state-of-the-art technology to perform tests that lead to the detection of potential health problems; the sooner a disease is caught, the greater the likelihood for a positive patient outcome. In fiscal year 2018, Lake Regional Laboratory Services completed 447,259 lab procedures, a 33 percent increase since fiscal year 2015.
