Lake Regional Express Care welcomes two nurse practitioners: Sherry Schwartz-Banner, FNP-C, and Jessica Whitworth, FNP-C.
Sherry Schwartz-Banner, FNP-C, who is rejoining Lake Regional, cares for patients at Lake Regional Express Care – Eldon. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. She has served in health care settings ranging from primary care to inpatient care.
“I take the time to listen to my patients and ask for their input,” Schwartz-Banner said. “I want them to have an active part in their plan of care. Educating my patients is important to helping them fully understand their diagnosis.”
Schwartz-Banner and her husband, Anthony, have a farm in Smithton, where they raise chickens, hogs, cattle and row crops. In her free time, she is always busy on the farm.
Jessica Whitworth, FNP-C, cares for patients at Lake Regional Express Care – Camdenton.
Whitworth earned a Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner at Cox College of Nursing. Her background in emergency medicine and urgent care is an asset at Express Care, where she cares for patients with urgent but non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Whitworth, a Macks Creek graduate, also feels honored to serve her own community.
“I am grateful to be back home practicing in the community that I grew up in and that I love so much,” Whitworth said. “I encourage all patients to be knowledgeable about their medications and why they are taking them. I also encourage them to ask questions and really engage with their health care providers about their care.”
Whitworth and her husband, Derak, have three children and live on their family farm in Macks Creek. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family on the water or out in the woods on a trail.
