Lake Regional Pharmacy Now Bills Medicare for Diabetic Supplies

Friday, August 18, 2017

Lake Regional Pharmacy is pleased to announce it now can bill Medicare for diabetic testing supplies — including home blood sugar monitors, test strips and lancets.

"In the past, Lake Regional could bill Medicare only for prescription needs related to diabetes care," said Stacie Ling, Lake Regional Health System's director of Retail Pharmacies. "Now that we can bill Medicare for diabetic testing supplies, diabetes management will be much more convenient for our patients using Medicare."

Lake Regional Pharmacy has retail locations in Camdenton, Lake Ozark, Laurie and Osage Beach. A new location will open in Eldon on Sept. 1 and will offer Medicare billing for diabetic supplies in the near future. Lake Regional Pharmacy offers online refills and free prescription delivery to much of Miller, Morgan and Camden counties. Diabetic testing supplies cannot be delivered because a Medicare rule requires patients or their designees to pick these up in the pharmacy.
