Lake Regional Hosts Free Talk on Mental Health, Sept. 23

Tuesday, August 18, 2020

Lake Regional invites the community to a Zoom presentation of “In Our Own Voice,” at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23. A recording of the presentation will later be shared on lakeregional.com for those who cannot watch live.

This virtual health talk will give participants a deeper understanding of mental health conditions and will dispel stereotypes and misconceptions. Nicole Baldwin, a suicide survivor and certified MO peer counselor for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, will talk openly about what it is like to have a mental health condition. Participants will gain an understanding of major depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

“This health talk offers assurance that people with mental health conditions can lead fulfilling lives, with hopes, dreams and goals,” said Billye Bennett, Lake Regional education coordinator. “They can get connected to resources and find support to manage these conditions well.”

This virtual health talk is free. Register at lakeregional.com/inourownvoice to receive the Zoom link. For more information, call Lake Regional Community Outreach at 573.348.8222.
