Lake Regional Health System announces the publication of “Currents: A Report to the Community.” The annual report covers fiscal year 2022, which began May 2021 and ended April 2022.
Highlights from the year include the groundbreaking for the new Lake Regional Lebanon campus; an expansion of Lake Regional Home Health to Laclede and Pulaski counties; various state and national recognitions for safe, innovative care; and welcoming 25 new providers, including specialists in cardiovascular-thoracic surgery, OB-GYN and orthopedics.
“As Lake Regional continues to grow and expand, we always ask, ‘Will changing this service or purchasing this technology result in better patient care and better patient experiences?’” said Kevin McRoberts, FACHE, Lake Regional CEO. “This patient focus has guided the progress captured in this annual report.”
Lake Regional Health System is one of the area’s largest employers with more than 1,500 full- and part-time staff and providers, or the equivalent of 1,219 full-time employees. During FY 2022, Lake Regional salaries and wages totaled more than $104.6 million, not including benefits. The report also shows Lake Regional contributed $31 million to the community, including charity care (at cost); community health screenings and education; and charitable contributions. This total also includes $15.5 million in taxes, including payroll, unemployment and real estate taxes.
The report includes a special thank you to the Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Although Auxiliary members could not be on site most of the fiscal year, they continued to support Lake Regional patients and team members. During FY 2022, the Auxiliary’s Ethel Rayburn Nursing Scholarship program awarded $5,000 in scholarships to deserving employees pursuing nursing careers. In addition, the Auxiliary donated $200,167 to Lake Regional’s Commitment to Caring initiative to advance the future of local health care.
