Lake Regional Encourages Physical Therapy

Thursday, October 14, 2021

October is National Physical Therapy Month, and Lake Regional is raising awareness of how physical therapy can help you overcome injuries and chronic pain to be active again.

“Physical therapy helps people with movement problems caused by a wide range of conditions,” said Courtney Hulett, P.T., Lake Regional’s Rehab Therapy director. “It can reduce pain, improve movement and help maximize your ability to live an active life.”

Physical therapists use a mix of prescribed exercise, hands-on care and patient education. At Lake Regional Health System, physical therapy services are available for both pediatric and adult patients who have:

  • Sports- and work-related injuries.
  • Back and neck problems.
  • Sprains, strains and other orthopedic-related problems.
  • Neurological problems, including certain stroke-related disabilities, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
  • Chronic pain.

“Being physically active is critical to good health and aging well,” Hulett said. “Don’t give up on exercise because of pain. Physical therapists are here with options to make physical activity possible again.”

Lake Regional provides physical therapy in Camdenton, Eldon, Lake Ozark, Laurie and Osage Beach. To schedule an appointment with a Lake Regional physical therapist, ask your doctor for a referral or call 573.302.2230. Visit to learn more and download a sample exercise routine.
