Lake Regional Health System will celebrate Patient Access Week on April 5-11. This week acknowledges the unique contribution patient access associates have on the patient experience. These dedicated staff members serve in reception, registration, insurance verification, financial counseling and scheduling.
“We are the hospital’s first ambassadors to our patients and are glad to help patients access the care they need,” said Robyn Wheeler, Lake Regional Patient Access manager. “In addition, we daily serve health care providers, staff members, visitors and payers.”
Lake Regional Patient Access Services includes 38 employees; most are credentialed as Certified Healthcare Access Associates.
Patient Access Week is sponsored by the National Association of Healthcare Access Management. NAHAM promotes best practices, standards and subject matter expertise to influence and promote high quality delivery of patient access services. NAHAM accomplishes its mission through networking, education and certification opportunities.
