Lake Regional Announces Renovations to Hospital’s Progressive Care Unit

Wednesday, December 4, 2019

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – Lake Regional Health System announced that beginning Tuesday, Dec. 10, the hospital’s Progressive Care Unit will undergo major renovations to improve the customer experience. The project will include a new entrance to the unit to improve wayfinding and a new family lounge area, as well as new nurses’ stations and upgraded flooring and wall coverings.

“We understand that people feel more confident in their care when their surroundings are up-to-date and comfortable,” said Kevin McRoberts, FACHE, senior vice president of Operations at Lake Regional Health System. “These renovations demonstrate our continued commitment to improving our customers’ experiences and to building a better Lake Regional for our community.”

The renovations are expected to be complete by spring 2020. During construction, PCU patients will be cared for on 1 North, on the hospital’s first floor. Room numbers will follow the patients to the temporary location. Visitors may access 1 North through the main lobby.

“If you are visiting a loved one during construction, please remember the PCU room numbers will not coincide with the floor number,” McRoberts said. “Our customer service coordinator and volunteers located in the main lobby are ready to help you find your way.”

The work at the hospital follows a major renovation of the hospital’s main lobby, Outpatient Services department and Family Birth Center during 2017-18.
