Lake Regional Health System announced today that beginning mid-August through spring 2018, Lake Regional Hospital will undergo major renovations to improve the customer experience. The project will include a remodeled main lobby, remodeled Emergency Department lobby, remodeled Outpatient Services department and a new Family Birth Center.
"We are committed to providing exceptional customer experiences and understand that people feel more confident in their care when their surroundings are up-to-date and comfortable," said Kevin McRoberts, senior vice president of Operations at Lake Regional Health System. "With the planned renovations, we are building a better Lake Regional for our community."
The hospital renovations will occur in three phases.
Phase I: Beginning Monday, Aug. 21, the hospital's main lobby will close and Outpatient Services will move to 1 North. Patients and visitors will access the hospital through two front entrances. Signs outside the hospital will help direct people based on their destinations. In addition, a detailed listing and map are available at www.lakeregional.com/construction.
The main lobby is scheduled to reopen by Nov. 1.
Phase II: In November, after the completion of phase I, the revolving entrance to the Emergency Department will close. Temporary doors will be installed in two locations. Again, signs outside the building will help direct patients and visitors, and a detailed listing and map are available at www.lakeregional.com/construction.
Phase III: This phase will run concurrent with phases I and II. Beginning mid-August, the vacated Outpatient Services department will undergo a complete remodel. Construction also will begin on a new Family Birth Center to be located on the hospital's third floor. Because the Family Birth Center is moving to an entirely new location within the hospital, there will be no interruptions to birth center services during construction.
The work at the hospital follows a major expansion project at Lake Regional Clinic – Eldon, scheduled to open the first week of September. For details on that project, visit www.lakeregional.com/EldonClinic.
