Lake Regional Announces New Speech Therapy Service

Thursday, March 11, 2021

Lake Regional Speech Therapy is proud to offer a new comprehensive pediatric feeding and swallowing program to the lake area.

“Lake Regional Speech Therapy is committed to improving the lives of children and families,” said Kristen Lee, MHS, CCC-SLP, manager of Lake Regional Speech Therapy. “We are proud to offer this new service to our pediatric patients. We will evaluate your child and develop an individualized therapy plan that best serves their needs.”

Eating is a complex task, which involves both feeding and swallowing. The Lake Regional Speech team will provide assessment and therapy services to maximize the safety and enjoyment of eating. The program will help pediatric patients, from newborn on up, meet their nutritional needs, increase food acceptance and improve swallowing safety.

“We are excited that our pediatric patients no longer have to travel long distances for these services,” Lee said. “Parents previously had to take their children to Columbia, Kansas City, Springfield or St. Louis.”
