Lake Regional Announces New Revenue Cycle Director

Tuesday, March 31, 2020

Lake Regional Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Dana Christiansen as director of revenue cycle, effective March 23. In health care, the revenue cycle is integral to nearly all aspects of a patient’s experience with the health system: admissions, patient care coordination, medical records, coding and billing.

Christiansen has extensive experience in data analysis and process improvement, and an in-depth knowledge of all facets of revenue cycle operation. During her 20-plus year tenure with CoxHealth in Springfield, Missouri, Christiansen held management positions in revenue integrity, patient financial services and physician billing.

“With each new position I held over the years, even as it became more complicated, I found it both challenging and rewarding,” Christiansen said. “I love knowing I can contribute to the financial health of an organization that cares so much about taking care of patients and the community. “

As director of revenue cycle with Lake Regional, Christiansen will facilitate patient access and financial services, oversee communications with health insurance carriers and manage receivables. Her knowledge, experience and leadership skills make her well-suited to guide the organization’s revenue cycle operations to the next level of clinical, business and financial achievement.

“Dana will bring a wealth of executive-level technical knowledge and health care revenue management to Lake Regional,” said Dane Henry, FACHE, Lake Regional’s chief executive officer. “As with any business, we must maintain the financial health of our organization to ensure that we can reinvest in technology, advanced treatments and new physicians for our patients. Her expertise will be essential to ensuring our health system continues to provide high quality, safe, compassionate care to our community.”

After 24 years living, working and raising their three children in the Springfield area, Christiansen and her husband are excited to take up permanent residence in one of their favorite vacation spots.

“We fell in love with the Lake of the Ozarks years ago and always knew we wanted to live here some day,” Christiansen said. “Plus, it is clear Lake Regional has a community-centered mission dedicated to providing exceptional care. There is a passion for the organization and the community that really makes me want to be a part of it.”
