OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — The Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America organization at Kent Memorial Lutheran Church in Sunrise Beach recently donated $2,416.59 to Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
The funds were raised through proceeds from the organization’s annual cookie sale and spring luncheon. The donation will go to the Ethel Rayburn Nursing and Health Care Scholarship Fund, which supports Lake Regional employees pursuing or furthering a nursing career.
“We are so grateful for the Kent Memorial WELCA’s continued support of the Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary,” said Terri Hall, director of Lake Regional Health System Fund Development and Volunteer Services. “The scholarship fund is a tremendous benefit to health care professionals at Lake Regional.”
In 16 years, Kent Memorial’s WELCA organization has raised $34,977.65 for the Auxiliary. In addition, the organization makes stuffed animals, hats and booties, which are given to patients and children visiting the hospital.
