“Vargas is a tenderhearted provider with extensive experience, and we are pleased to have her joining our team,” said Becki Harris, clinic manager of Lake Regional Express Care – Osage Beach.
Vargas remembers always being interested in medicine, but a hospitalization is what ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in health care.
“My love for medicine was solidified after being in a bad car accident my junior year of high school,” Vargas said. “I was hospitalized for two weeks. My senior year, I joined the local volunteer fire department, and I got my EMT license while still in high school. I have been involved in medicine ever since.”
Vargas earned a Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. Her background in both emergency medicine and primary care is an asset at Express Care, where she cares for patients with urgent but non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
“I try to give every patient a good experience so they return as needed,” Vargas said. “I am down-to-earth, and I tend to use laughter when I can to get to know my patients.”
Vargas lives in Sunrise Beach with her two cats and two dogs. She enjoys running, boating, fishing, bicycling, and being with family and friends. She loves winter because she can ice fish, snow ski, and travel to Northwest and Western America and enjoy the scenery.
