Lake Regional Health System will host a free health talk, “Arthritis: Surgical Treatments and Recovery,” at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3. Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon Rick Walker, D.O., will present the seminar in the hospital’s third floor conference rooms.
This forum will educate patients on surgical options for relieving arthritis pain in the shoulders, hips and knees. It also will provide information on recovery times following total joint replacement and give an overview of Lake Regional’s Total Joint Camp, a two-hour class patients take before surgery.
“We understand people have questions about using surgery to alleviate pain from arthritis, and this free health talk is a chance to receive answers to those questions,” Dr. Walker said. “Participants will leave knowing when surgery makes sense and what to expect if they do choose surgery.”
Dr. Walker joined Lake Regional Orthopedics in 2012. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. View his video bio here.
