Lake Regional Honors Michael E. Henze with Building Name

Tuesday, December 5, 2017

Lake Regional Health System celebrated the official naming of the Michael E. Henze Medical Office Building on Friday, Dec. 1. Michael E. Henze retired from Lake Regional in September after serving as CEO for 27 years.

“Although he’s no longer leading us, Mike’s presence at Lake Regional Health System will continue to be felt throughout our health system, in the numerous clinics, programs and expansions completed under his leadership, as well as in the staff he inspired with his vision for exceptional hometown care,” said Charles McElyea, member of the Lake Regional Health System Board of Directors. “We are proud to have Mike’s name on the building that houses Lake Regional administration and several medical services.”

When Henze joined Lake Regional in 1990, it was known as Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital. He oversaw its transformation from a small community hospital to an expansive health system that includes seven lake-area primary care clinics, three Express Care clinics, 19 specialty clinics, home health services, a hospice program, a network of rehab therapy sites, an imaging center, five retail pharmacies and a free-standing surgery center. The hospital itself has grown — from 93,000 square feet to 500,000 square feet — and added several service lines, including a cardiac program and cancer treatment center. Annual total operating revenue grew from $18 million in 1990 to $190 million in 2017.

Succeeding Henze as CEO is Dane W. Henry, who joined Lake Regional Sept. 18.

Smokin Trowel Masonry of Eldon, owned by Anthony and Tami Dinwiddie, donated the brickwork for the exterior building sign.

Lake Regional Health System provides comprehensive health care services to the residents and visitors of the lake area. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is a three-time recipient of the Missouri Quality Award.
