This is a one-hour course that will be offered for patients who may be at risk for the development of lymphedema related to surgery or cancer treatment. It will be offered the second Tuesday of every other month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Cancer Resource Center.
Lymphedema 101 is presented by Lake Regional occupational therapists Katie Kelley and Danielle Baumgartner, and covers subjects such as:
· What is lymphedema
· Who is at risk
· Stages of Lymphedema
· Monitoring techniques
· Prevention techniques
· Treatment options
· When to see your doctor
Participants can sign up by calling the Cancer Center at 302-2772. Registration is required.
Physicians wishing to refer patients can do so at the same number.
