Building a Better Lake Regional
Lake Regional Hospital is undergoing major renovations to improve our customer experience. The project, scheduled for completion in spring 2018, includes remodeling our main lobby, Emergency Department lobby and Outpatient Services department. Plus, we're building a new Women's and Children's Unit and Family Birth Center.
These renovations will occur in three phases, detailed below.
Where to Go Update
Family Birth Center: Patients of the Family Birth Center should always enter through the Emergency Department, no matter the time of day. Family Birth Center visitors should enter through the main entrance at the front of the hospital until 8:30 p.m. From 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., visitors should enter through the Emergency Department, turn right and walk to a set of glass doors. Outside the doors is a phone they can use to call the Family Birth Center to request an escort.
Stepdown Unit: Access to the east end of the hospital’s third floor is partially restricted. Visitors are encouraged to enter the hospital through the main front door and use the elevator near the main lobby to reach the third floor.
The revolving entrance to the Emergency Department has reopened. Finish work continues.
This phase runs concurrent with phases I and II and includes a complete remodel of the vacated Outpatient Services department and construction of a new Family Birth Center located in a new Women's and Children's Unit on the hospital’s third floor. Because the Family Birth Center is moving to an entirely new location within the hospital, there will be no interruptions to birth center services during construction.
