Lake Regional's Emergency Department is a state-designated Level III Trauma Center that provides 24-hour emergency medical service to a five-county area. Lake Regional receives patients from seven ground ambulance services. One air ambulance, owned and operated by Air Methods Corp., is based at the hospital.
The ED team includes full-time emergency physicians with clinical interests in the specialized field of emergency medicine and nursing staff trained in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and trauma care. These highly skilled, experienced clinicians care for more than 35,000 patients annually — many arriving with injuries unique to this resort area.
Patients are treated according to the severity of their illness or injury, therefore patients with less serious conditions may be asked to wait. Your patience is appreciated.
