Lake Regional’s Anticoagulation Clinic is located in the Specialty Suite on the second floor of Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
The clinic provides expert, coordinated care for adult patients who require short- or long-term anticoagulation medication, such as Warfarin (Coumadin), Heparin, Fragmin or Lovenox. To help manage their condition, patients will receive individualized care, flexible scheduling, access to a pharmacist and formal teaching about anticoagulation therapy.
The clinic’s purpose is to help patients on anticoagulation medication reach and maintain healthy INR or anti-Xa levels. Clinic staff help stabilize patients on one dose and help them understand the purpose of anticoagulation therapy, so that additional medical problems associated with anticoagulation medications may be avoided.
Patients who have been referred to our service by an established primary care provider or managed care provider are eligible to be treated at the clinic. Staff will schedule clinic visits and testing with patients. Results, expectations and plan of care will be discussed at each visit. The clinic will coordinate care with the referring physicians.
