Quality Care: 2016 Community Report provides an in-depth look at how well Lake Regional is meeting various quality standards. This report describes innovative solutions we implemented to achieve our goals and details the reasons our health system has earned multiple state and national awards for quality care.

The report includes a section on quality improvement, with a graph depicting Lake Regional’s impressive progress in treating heart attack, pneumonia and heart failure and limiting surgical infections. Another section looks at various recognitions Lake Regional has earned for high-quality care and still another section provides data on Lake Regional’s exceptionally low infection rates.

As this report explains, we continuously monitor the care we provide, and even when we satisfy standards, we look for ways to do things better. As a result, patients at Lake Regional are receiving high-quality, award-winning care right here, close to home. View and download the Quality Care: 2016 Community Report.

Quality Care, Quality Outcomes

At Lake Regional Health System, quality is defined as a comprehensive look at all aspects of a patient's experience. Lake Regional is a three-time recipient of the Missouri Quality Award (2013, 2010 and 2003). This prestigious honor, given by the Excellence in Missouri Foundation, is the official state recognition program for excellence in organizational performance and applying quality principles.

Lake Regional's quality program focuses on patient satisfaction and clinical excellence with an emphasis on:

  • Patient care outcomes
  • Compliance with evidence-based protocols for care

Quality Comparisons

See how hospitals are performing on the nationally recognized quality of care measurements (heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care) and patient satisfaction at the Missouri Hospital Association’s Focus on Hospitals website.

Hospital Compare, offered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, allows users to search for a hospital by ZIP code to see how it compares to both state and national averages in patient experience. Information on the site is compiled using a national survey called HCAHPS, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. HCAHPS is the first national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients' perspectives of hospital care.
