Lake Regional Pharmacy is celebrating American Pharmacy Month in October.
The theme of the observance, “Know Your Pharmacist, Know Your Medicine,” is intended to encourage consumers to get to know their pharmacist. The better a person knows their pharmacist, the lower their risk of taking medications incorrectly, according to the American Pharmacists Association.
“Asking your pharmacist questions about your medications and taking medications correctly is one of the best ways to decrease your health care costs,” said Stacie Ling, operations manager at Lake Regional Pharmacy. “It also increases your safety.”
Retail Pharmacies nationwide, including at Lake Regional, have expanded to offer a broad array of services to help patients improve their health and get the most out of their medications, such as medication reviews, education on interactions and side-effects, and advice on over-the-counter medications, vitamins and minerals.
“It is important to use the same pharmacy for all of your prescription services, especially if you see multiple physicians,” Ling said. “This ensures that your pharmacist has access to your complete medication history when checking for problems or possible interactions.”
Lake Regional Pharmacy provides many services, including Medicare Part D enrollment, immunizations and medication reviews. To find an upcoming event at Lake Regional Pharmacy, visit lakeregional.com/events. To learn more about Lake Regional Pharmacy, visit lakeregional.com/pharmacy.
