Richardson Named HK’s Golf Tournament Honorary Chair

Lake Regional Health System is pleased to announce former Kansas City Chiefs Fullback Tony Richardson will serve as honorary chair of the 34th Annual HK’s Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament, scheduled June 1-3 at The Cove Golf Course at The Lodge of Four Seasons.

A three-time Pro Bowl and two-time All-Pro selection, Richardson also has played for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets. He is considered one of the greatest blocking fullbacks in NFL history. Off the field, Richardson is very involved with charities and is a recipient of the Marty Lyons Community Service Award, the “Whizzer” White NFL Man of the Year award and the Walter Payton Award.

Richardson will help kick off the HK’s activities at the VIP/Celebrity Party, scheduled 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 1, at The Lodge of Four Seasons. This invitation only party for sponsors who contribute $1,000 or more will feature entertainment by Don and Suzy Akers. Guests can mingle with Richardson and other sports celebrities in the Lodge’s Marbella Ballroom.

Players, sponsors and guests also are invited to attend the Pairing Party and Silent/Live Auction, scheduled 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2, in Campana Hall at The Lodge of Four Seasons. Many items will be up for bid this year, including jewelry, golf packages, weekend getaways, sports memorabilia and more.

The golf tournament will be held Sunday, June 3, at The Cove Golf Course. The Cove, the Lodge’s signature course, was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. The 18-hole, par-71 championship course challenges guests with its rolling greens, 65 bunkers and signature hole 4.

The tournament will feature several closest-to-the-hole and hole-in-one prizes, as well as two putting contests. Flights are scheduled in the morning and afternoon.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will help Lake Regional purchase a hana© orthopedic surgical table, enabling surgeons to perform total hip replacements through a single, anterior incision. Patients recover more quickly, typically within weeks, from this less-invasive technique compared to traditional methods.

Registration is $295 per golfer and includes on-course refreshments, two tickets to Saturday evening’s Pairing Party and Silent/Live Auction and more.
