Lake Regional Annual Report
Each year, Lake Regional Health System publishes “Currents: A Report to the Community.” The annual report covers fiscal year 2016, which began May 2015 and ended April 2016. According to the report, Lake Regional contributed more than $23.7 million to the community, including uncompensated care and free medical services. The total also includes $10 million for the unpaid cost of treating Medicare patients. With more than 1,000 employees, Lake Regional Health System is one of the area’s largest employers. During FY 2016, LRHS payroll totaled more than $68.9 million, and the system paid more than $4.5 million in payroll and unemployment taxes and real estate taxes. Lake Regional Hospital
Lake Regional Hospital, a 501(c)(3) corporation
, is accredited by The Joint Commission and is a three-time recipient of the Missouri Quality Award. The 500,000 square foot, 116-bed hospital is designated by Medicare as a Regional Referral Center.
Our facility features private patient rooms, a large Outpatient department and a 35-bed Emergency Department
. Our ED is a state-designated Level III Trauma Center that treats more than 36,500 patients annually. The hospital also features an 18-bed Intensive Care/Cardiac Care Unit and a 22-bed Stepdown Unit for patients progressing in their recovery from the ICU/CCU. Our Family Birth Center is designated as a Level II Trauma Nursery and we are a Level II Stroke Center.
Physicians and Specialties
More than 100 providers care for patients at Lake Regional, including specialists in cardiology, cardiothoracic/vascular surgery, gastroenterology, medical and radiation oncology, occupational medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pulmonology and rheumatology. Area Clinics and Services
Completing the health system are seven freestanding primary care clinics, 17 specialty clinics, two urgent care clinics, four satellite physical and cardiac rehab therapy sites, four retail pharmacies and home health services. A freestanding imaging center also was added to the hospital campus in 2006.

Community Health Needs Assessment 2015
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 requires health care organizations to assess the health needs of their communities and adopt implementation strategies to address identified needs. This report is a summary of the data collected during the initial cycle of Lake Regional Health System’s community health needs assessment.
