Located on the first floor of the hospital past the gift shop, Lake Regional Wound Healing Center features individual treatment rooms and two hyperbaric oxygen chambers. Our multidisciplinary team coordinates with referring physicians to design an aggressive treatment plan for each patient.
Treatment options include, but are not limited to:
- specialty wound dressings
- hyperbaric oxygen treatments
- noninvasive vascular studies
- bioengineered skin grafts/substitutes
- debridement (the removal of dead, damaged or infected tissue)
- compression therapy
- negative pressure wound therapy
- patient and family education to minimize re-occurrences
- antibiotic therapy
The physicians and clinical staff at Lake Regional Wound Healing Center receive continuous training on the latest wound management techniques. State-of-the art technology is used to track patients' progress, including treatments in the center's hyperbaric oxygen chambers.
Conditions Treated at Lake Regional Wound Healing Center
Likely candidates for treatment are individuals suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, late effect radiation injuries, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and wounds that haven't healed within 30 days. The center's hyperbaric oxygen chambers also can be used to treat patients suffering from gangrene, carbon monoxide poisoning and brown recluse spider bites.
