At Lake Regional Health System, our surgical site infection rate (out of 30,223 surgical procedures) has remained at or below 1.3 percent for the past six years. The National Nosocomial Infection Surveillance report shows an average of 2.76 percent  and the National Healthcare Safety Network report shows an average of 1.95 percent for the same surgical categories.

LRHS has many initiatives in place to prevent infections and follows the practices and regulations set forth by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Joint Commission, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
