Lake Regional's Emergency Department is a state-designated Level III Trauma Center that provides 24-hour emergency medical service to a five-county area. An air ambulance, owned and operated by Air Methods Corp., also is based at the hospital.

Our ED features full-time emergency physicians with clinical interests in the specialized field of emergency medicine. Our trauma team also includes nursing staff trained in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and trauma care. These highly skilled, experienced clinicians care for more than 36,000 patients annually — many arriving with injuries unique to this resort area.

Incoming patients with the most critical needs are attended to immediately. Patients with less grave injuries and illnesses may be asked to wait. Your patience is very much appreciated.

Our emergency personnel understand the special needs of families and friends waiting while loved ones receive care. Every effort is made to keep you updated on the patient's progress. Should you need to leave the waiting area, please notify the registration staff.
