Lake Regional’s new neurologist and sleep specialist, Philip Mataverde, D.O., MPH, enjoys a challenge.
“That’s one of the reasons I decided to go into medicine,” he says. “I also feel it’s an honor and a privilege to take care of others.”
Dr. Mataverde, his wife, Jessica, and their daughters, 22-month-old Natalie and nine-month-old Madeline, recently relocated to the lake from Michigan.
“This area is a beautiful place to live, work and raise a family,” he says. “We’re looking forward to being a part of this growing community.”
Dr. Mataverde diagnoses and treats nervous system disorders, including diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. He also treats patients who have experienced strokes or other complications of cerebrovascular disease, as well as individuals with migraines, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy and sleep disorders.
In his free time, Dr. Mataverde enjoys spending time with family; playing sport, especially tennis and basketball; and participating in outdoor activities, such as bicycling.
